Nitin K Singhal, Ph.D. 

Group Leader

As our experienced Research Adviser, Dr Nitin K Singhal is a fundamental part of what makes Nitin lab_NABI such a successful Research Lab. He has obtained his Ph.D. in ‘Bio-Inorganic Chemistry’ from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai. He is now working in Food and nutrition division of National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute, supported by Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. His area of research includes nano-materials for sensing, mechanical killing ad photo-thermal ablation of pathogenic bacteria. Another area of interest includes targeted therapeutics for nutritional and metabolic disorders such as anemia and diabetes.

NITESH PRIYADARSHI, Ph.D. 

Research Associate

The reputation of Dr Nitesh precedes them, as they came to us with an impressive background. He since became a valued Research Associate on our team, adding important insights into our work. His research interest includes synthesis of engineered nanomaterial for development of bacterial biosensor. Currently he is working on the development of multi-dimensional nanoplatform based microarray for the detection of bacteria.

SUNAINA KAUL

Senior research fellow

She is a hardworking person with charming aura. With an interest in the wide applications of nanoparticles, she has worked on antibacterial action of gold nanostructures and improving enzyme efficiency through the use of magnetic nanoparticles. Incorporating the benefits of hydrogels she is motivated in working towards futuristic healthcare applications.

GEETIKA BAJAJ

Senior research fellow

She has keen focus and dedication towards her work. Her area of research involves the isolation of plant derived exosomes and analysis of  their therapeutic effects on Type 2 Diabetes. She tends to develop cost-effective, non-toxic, or safer therapeutic alternatives for the amelioration of T2DM.

PRIYANKA GARG 

Senior research fellow

Priyanka is a talented addition to the lab. She has obtained her master's degree from Panjab University Chandigarh. Her current research work revolves around developing nanomaterials based point of care device for specific food borne bacteria detection. Additionally, she is working on synthesizing nano-formulations to treat skin and organ specific bacterial infection.

NIKITA SARAWAGI 

Senior research fellow

Nikita is a sincere personality and is a valuable member of the team. She is focused on fabrication of biosensor for pesticide detection in real samples. For this she is developing electrochemical aptasensor for the detection of pesticide where aptamer will be used as biorecognition element.

Junior research fellow

She is youngest addition to the team, and is already intended towards making invaluable contributions toward our research goals. she has done her master's from Panjab University. Her current research involves the development of aptasensor against pesticides and bacteria's.

PRATEEKSHA VEENA

CSIR-JRF

​She is the recent addition to our team. she pursued her post-graduation from Kumaun University, Nainital. Her Area of research is to create and evaluate a oral nanomedicine as a novel treatment for type 2 diabetes: a pre-clinical study

Tends to use 2D and 3D in vitro models to examine the synthesized formulation's therapeutic efficacy and cell target specificity.

AKASH THAKUR

Junior research fellow

He has joined our lab recently. He pursued his Post graduation in Biotechnology from Maharaja Agrasen University.His area of research is to form nanotherapeutics as a treatment for type 2 diabetes mellitus: A novel approach by modulating gut liver axis.

POONAM SAGAR, Ph.D.

Poonam has an incredible dedication to the work making invaluable contributions toward our research goals. She has recieved her masters in Biochemistry and  Her interests lies in the development of orally consumable hydrogels for the therapeutics of iron deficiency anemia. Besides she has also worked on interdisciplinary projects including therapeutics of type 2 diabetes, hydrogel based wound healing promotion in rats etc. Her creativity has always been valuable asset for the lab. Currently she is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at University Of Nebraska Medical Centre (UNMC), Omaha, Nebraska, USA

RITIKA GUPTA, Ph.D.

Ritika is a versatile and optimistic person with diverse interdisciplinary skills. Her research work involves fabrication of point-of-care microfluidic diagnostic devices for bacterial detection. Her interests include designing aptamers against whole-cell bacteria and proteins and further utilizing them for detection assay development. She received her post-graduate degree in biotechnology from Banasthali Vidyapeeth, Rajasthan. Currently she is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at University Of Nebraska Medical Centre (UNMC), Omaha, Nebraska, USA

VISHAL SINGH, Ph.D. 

Scientist B at ICMR-NIIRNCD, Jodhpur Rajasthan India

Vishal is a optimistic and pragmatic person and has made invaluable contributions to meet lab research goals. During his Ph.D. he has worked on the development of targeted nanotherapeutics for type 2 diabetes using siRNA functionalized graphene oxide nanosheets. Apart from Ph.D. work, he has also actively participated in various interdisciplinary collaborative research projects such as synbiotic hydrogel beads for iron deficiency anemia, siRNA-nanocomplex for rescuing Alzheimer’s disease pathology, enzymes immobilization for industrial applications, etc. Currently he is appointed as Scientist B in the department of Biochemistry at ICMR-NIIRNCD, Jodhpur (Raj), India.

SHIMAYALI KAUSHAL, Ph.D.

Post Doctoral fellow at Korea University, Seoul South Korea

Shimayali is dedicated and charming personality and has worked on various interdisciplinary fields during her Ph.D. such as nanomaterials fabrication, spectroscopic and microscopic studies, photoablation studies, microbiological studies and in vitro studies. Her Ph.D. thesis work involved synthesis and characterization of gold nanorod based biosensor for detection and NIR-based killing of food borne pathogens. Currently, she is working as a postdoctoral fellow in KU-KIST, Seoul, South Korea.

SMRITI GUPTA, Ph.D.

Postdoctoral Scholar at University of  Virginia School of Medicine

Smriti is a optimistic personality which reflects in her research. During her Ph.D. she has explored the effect of graphene conjugated siRNA on insulin signaling pathway and its effect on the Alzheimers pathology. Currently she is working as a post-doctoral scholar at University of Virginia School of Medicine

STANZIN ANGMO, Ph.D. 

Assistant Professor at Department of Forensic Science, University of Ladakh India

Stanzin had an outgoing nature and was the first scholar to receive Ph.D. degree from our lab. Her research was oriented towards finding the potential of guanosine diphosphate (GDP) in downregulating hepdicin levels during anemia of inflammation. Further she also enhanced the efficacy of GDP by encapsulating them inside liposome vesicles. Currently she is appointed as an Assistant Professor at Department of Forensic Science, University of Ladakh India.
